In 2023, a series of strange recordings was found amid a box of old VHS cassettes. The cassettes are dated to 1997 and follow two groups of "monster hunters" in a town in rural Illinois, both on the trail of a variety of odd and frightening creatures.

Questions abound about the contents of these tapes, but perhaps the biggest is where exactly they came from. An old print-out map folded inside of one of the tape boxes details a "Munich, Illinois" - but no such locale exists, and the map doesn't seem to match any other town in Illinois. Whatever the truth may be, it's clear that this sleepy college town is a place where strange things happen for strange reasons...
